Moving to Suffolk is the best thing we have ever done as a family

We moved to Suffolk two years ago for the quality of life, wonderful coast and countryside. My family and I love it - there is a sense that the county is developing lots of opportunities for young people.

I am a teacher of ESOL for Suffolk County Council Adult and Community Learning. I'm asking my students in Lowestoft to record their impressions.

Lowestoft is the most easterly town in the UK.
It is very windy & prone to flooding, but i love it.Born & bred here 82yrs and still waiting for the 3rd crossing.

Lowestoft has been a great place to live. There has been plenty of work in the past, once had a thriving fishing industry and ship and boat building yards Richards and Brook marines, but when that slowed down it became very prosperous in the oil industry, sea and land led the way into accommodation for gas platforms and rig building. And know getting into wind turbines and platforms. The resession is now starting to take hold, the new road scheme in and out of Lowestoft has had more problems to the local people and industry very noticable in peak periods during the day. BADLY NEED THIRD CROSSING!!!!!!!!

I consider Lowestoft to be a nice area to live in.There have been many improvements in the last few years'especially on the sea front and the beach is one of the best.It would be another major improvement to have a 3rd crossing the traffic situation in neighbouring Oulton Broad is an absolute joke.Maybe moving the station to Oulton Broad could be a solution.Stop wasting our money and get a general idea of what people and the town need!!!!!!
